Meet Team Roger Lowa

Team Roger Lowa--named for a T-Shirt sloth and a brand of hiking boots--are: Pete "Scout" Feuk, Tami "Barking Betty " Richey, Liz "Babbles" Selvig, and Jan "Cap" Selvig.

One day in the summer of 2019 B.C. (Before Covid), four people, who at the time had normal names (see below) and who had been hiking together for several years, saw some "Sloth Hiking Club" T-shirts online. One of the four (probably Scout) joked that they should each order one. Two of the four (almost certainly Betty and Babs) said, "Ooooh, not a joke, we HAVE TO." The fourth person (unsurprisingly, Cap) said, "Whatever."

Jan Selvig, Lizbeth Selvig, Pete Feuk and Tami Richey (the normal names), had no idea when they donned the shirts and named the sloth Roger that they would soon become: Team Roger Lowa. The Sloth Hiking Team consists of two siblings and two spouses who've discovered a love of hiking, camping, and other outdoor adventures.

We are "the four" - members of Team Roger Lowa, and we live in Minnesota, USA near the Twin Cities. The four of us hike almost every weekend---sometimes two or three times, and have hiked every one of the 72 State Parks and Recreation Areas in our beautiful state. We've also visited a few parks in Wisconsin (which isn't that far away) and visited Rocky Mountain National Park (Scout's favorite NP because his twin grandsons live nearby) multiple times to hike the gorgeous trails there.

Our current adventure is taking us to Scotland and England, where we'll not just sightsee but take an 80-mile hike through the Highlands. To say we're excited is an understatement.

Scout: aka Pete "I Walk and Notice Sh**" Feuk. The youngest but tallest of Babs' three brothers who has special carrying cases/bags for every piece of hiking and camping equipment he owns, and who never looks at a map but always finds the right path. He is the fiance of...

 

 Barking Betty (Betty): aka Tami "I'm Fine Everything's Fine" Richey. The youngest member of the team and our self-titled princess who, until six years ago, had never hiked a single trail but is now so experienced she can scramble on scree and face high altitudes better than most. She doesn't like tall grass. We don't ever explain the "barking."
